Why watch It keeps Letterkenny's rapid fire insults but adds something that show rarely went for: a big heart about teammates, community and Northern Ontario hockey. Former professional players fill out the roster, so the hockey looks credible. Crave has renewed it through a sixth season. Best for hockey fans and anyone who likes comedy that is profane on the surface and sincere underneath.
Jared Keeso created Shoresy as a spin-off of Letterkenny, where he played both Wayne and Shoresy, with Shoresy’s face always kept out of view. Bell Media backed the spin-off partly because the character was among the most popular in Letterkenny merchandise. Production began in Sudbury in November 2021, with scenes shot at the Sudbury Community Arena.
The series premiered on Crave on 13 May 2022 and on Hulu in the US two weeks later. Season two arrived in September 2023, season three in May 2024, season four in January 2025 and season five on 25 December 2025, with a sixth season ordered the following month. Guests have included Wayne Gretzky, Scott Thompson and Jonathan Torrens.
At season one, episode one, which sets up the bet. Watching Letterkenny first is not required, although fans will know Shoresy’s style of chirping.
