Why watch It is a golf show only in the loosest sense: the scorecard matters less than what happens between holes. Murray's company, a rotating cast of Irish comedians and appearances from his brothers Joel and John make it easy viewing for non-golfers, while the courses give enthusiasts plenty of scenery. Half-hour episodes keep it brisk.
What to know
The series takes its title and inspiration from Coyne’s travel memoir, A Course Called Ireland: A Long Walk in Search of a Country, a Pint, and the Next Tee. Commissioned by the BBC, it is produced by Skydance Sports and Stellify Media, with Casey Scharf and Morgan Roberts as showrunners and executive producers and Chris Cottam as series director.
It premiered on Friday 23 October 2026 on BBC One Northern Ireland and BBC iPlayer, followed by BBC Two on Sunday 25 October. Paramount+ released it the same Sunday in its international markets outside the UK and Latin America. Each of the six episodes runs about 30 minutes, short enough to take in over a single weekend.
Where to start
Episode one, which establishes the pairing of Murray and Coyne and the loose shape of the trip. The journey unfolds in sequence, so it rewards watching straight through rather than dipping in.
