The Loveseyland media universe
The Remote is one of three publications from Loveseyland Ltd., a studio and ventures company in Toronto. Loveseyland describes itself as a studio that builds worlds and the companies inside them. Its work runs from brand strategy and creative production to product, platform and enterprise AI consulting, and it also builds its own public-benefit ventures and tools. Its publications are the part of that work you can read.
Three publications
The Remote
dontlosetheremote.com. A guide to everything worth watching: film, television and streaming for Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. Live listings in The Guide, 40 years of shows and films in The Rerun, a free question tool in Ask the Remote, a pick for tonight, and The Dispatch newsletter. Consumer first, with a trade desk. Editor-in-Chief: Andrew Lovesey.
Not An Atlas
notanatlas.com. An independent travel magazine for travellers in Canada, the US, the UK, Australia and New Zealand, and for the advisors who book their trips. Where to go and when, what is opening, which rules are changing and what it all costs, checked against airlines, airports, hotels, cruise lines, tourism boards and governments, with sources linked. Travel journalism, checked at the source.
prompt/power
promptandpower.com. Independent AI and technology journalism for people who build, break and make sense of the digital world. Published daily from Toronto, it goes for the story behind the announcement: who benefits, who pays and what was left out. It also runs The Daily Brief and Prompt Lab.
One newsroom model
The three publications are built on the same approach, which Loveseyland calls an AI-assisted, human-edited newsroom.
- Human editors. Every story is edited, checked and approved by a person before it is published. Writers publish under their own names; some beats carry house bylines that represent a desk rather than an individual, and each site says which is which.
- AI-assisted research. AI tools help with research, drafting, data handling and the tools readers use on the sites. They do not decide what runs, and they do not write reviews or opinion.
- Primary sources. Claims are checked against the people and organizations closest to them: companies, platforms, governments, regulators, courts, festivals and filings. Other outlets’ reporting is a tip to follow, not a source to cite.
- Real images. Press photography and production stills, credited to the people who supplied them. No stock, no generated photographs.
- Open corrections. Mistakes are fixed in the story and marked with a dated note that says what changed.
Independence
Advertising on all three sites is served separately from editorial and advertisers have no influence over coverage. None of the publications accepts payment for coverage. Loveseyland’s own productions and ventures are not covered by its publications unless the editor says so plainly in the story.
