Our take
In a nursing home, an elderly man reads to a woman from a notebook telling of a summer romance between a working class boy and a wealthy girl in 1940s South Carolina.
Why watch Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, both from London, Ontario, made it a touchstone of modern romance.
