Helluva Boss started life as a web series on YouTube. On Wednesday, 14 October, its third season premiered on Prime Video, and it was the first batch of episodes that fans could not watch there first.

Amazon says Season 3, Part 1 comprises seven episodes, released in three drops: three on launch day, then two a week until 28 October. The show will stream in more than 240 countries and territories, included with a Prime membership.

The schedule

  • Wednesday, 14 October: Episodes 1, 2 and 3
  • Wednesday, 21 October: Episodes 4 and 5
  • Wednesday, 28 October: Episodes 6 and 7

That is only half the season. When it renewed sister series Hazbin Hotel in April, Amazon MGM Studios said Helluva Boss Season 3 would run to 15 episodes, with the first half premiering in fall 2026 and the second half arriving in 2027 after a mid-season break.

What happens this season

The series is set in Hell and follows Blitzo and his assassination start-up, I.M.P. (Immediate Murder Professionals). According to Amazon, Season 3 picks up with the crew taking jobs across Earth and Hell “while navigating increasingly complex personal lives”: Blitzo and Stolas are still working out where they stand, Millie and Moxxie are preparing for “a life-changing surprise,” and Loona takes on a larger role at I.M.P.

The voice cast returns: Brandon Rogers as Blitzo, Richard Horvitz as Moxxie, Vivian Williams as Millie, Erica Lindbeck as Loona and Bryce Pinkham as Stolas, with Alex Brightman in guest roles.

From YouTube to the streamer

The route here is the story. Creator Vivienne Medrano built the Hellaverse independently with her team at SpindleHorse, starting with a Hazbin Hotel pilot that Amazon says has passed 120 million views on YouTube. Hazbin Hotel became a Prime Video series made with A24 and Bento Box Entertainment, and is now headed for a fifth and final season.

Helluva Boss followed a different path. In April 2025 Prime Video acquired the existing web series outright and ordered Seasons 3 and 4, confirming in the same announcement that the two shows share one universe. Medrano also signed a first-look deal. “I’m SO excited for what this means for the continued rise of Indie animation!” she said at the time.

The deal was built to keep the YouTube audience on side. Amazon said the first two seasons would stay on YouTube while also moving to Prime Video, where, the studio said, the show would be fully uncensored and subtitled and dubbed in multiple languages for the first time. New seasons, starting with this one, get an exclusive Prime Video window.

Where Part 1 stands

Five of Part 1’s seven episodes are now out: episodes 1 to 3 arrived on Wednesday 14 October and episodes 4 and 5 on Wednesday 21 October. Episodes 6 and 7, which close Part 1, follow on Wednesday 28 October. Amazon has not yet given a date for Part 2 beyond 2027.

What it costs

Helluva Boss is included with Prime rather than sold as a separate channel. Amazon’s US pricing is US$14.99 a month or US$139 a year, with a 30-day free trial, and Amazon says discounted plans at 50 per cent off are available to young adults and to people receiving qualifying government assistance. Amazon Canada lists Prime at $9.99 a month or $99 a year, plus applicable taxes, with Prime Student at $4.99 a month or $49 a year and a six-month free trial for new student members. Amazon notes that prices and availability vary by territory.

The rest of the Hellaverse

Seven episodes go quickly, and the wait for Part 2 is longer. Hazbin Hotel, the sister series, offers more of the same world. Amazon MGM Studios says its second season premiered on Prime Video on 29 October 2025, which makes a full catch-up on both seasons possible before Helluva Boss returns. There is also Hazbin Hotel: Live on Broadway, a concert staged on 20 October 2025 at New York’s Majestic Theatre and hosted by series lead Erika Henningsen, which Amazon says is now streaming on Prime Video. Medrano said of the final-season order: “I’m so excited for fans to see how this story ends.”
