Tyson Fury has spent the better part of a decade narrating his own life in public, from press conferences to the reality series At Home with the Furys. Netflix is now putting that story into a single feature. Tyson Fury, a feature-length documentary, arrives on Netflix on Friday 27 November, two weeks before Fury fights Anthony Joshua live on the same service.
The timing is the point. The film works as the opening act for a fight between two British former world champions, and it gives subscribers a reason to spend an evening with Fury before they spend one watching him in the ring.
What the film covers
Directed by Lucy Wilcox and produced by Optomen, with George Waldrum as executive producer, Tyson Fury follows its subject from childhood to the height of his career: the rise, the fall and the comeback. The film draws on never-before-seen archive footage and on interviews with Fury himself, his wife Paris Fury and his father John Fury.
Netflix
The subjects it takes on are heavier than the usual fight-camp material. The documentary addresses the loss of a child, complicated family relationships, Fury’s struggles with mental health and addiction, and his thinking on what it means to be a man. Fury has spoken about several of these subjects in public before; here his family is on camera alongside him.
The fight it is building towards
Fury vs Joshua takes place on Friday 11 December at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff and streams live on Netflix around the world at no extra cost to members. Start times and the undercard have not yet been announced. The Ring and Dana White are co-promoting.
Both men are former heavyweight champions, and both have headlined live Netflix boxing nights before. Fury, 36-2-1 with 25 knockouts, beat Arslanbek Makhmudov on a unanimous decision in April 2026. Joshua, 30-4 with 27 knockouts, stopped Jake Paul in December 2025. The pair have never met as professionals; they sparred years ago, when Joshua was still an amateur.
Netflix’s live-sport playbook
Pairing a portrait film with a live event is a pattern British subscribers will recognise. Netflix has already built live nights around single personalities, as with the darts showcase Beat Luke Littler, and its documentary slate this autumn has leaned on famous lives, from The One About Matthew Perry to this film. Tyson Fury ties the two strands together, with the film and the fight landing on the same service a fortnight apart. Our round-up of what is new on streaming in the UK this November has the rest of the month’s arrivals.
