Where to Watch It Gets Worse

Leo Reich's A24 comedy reaches Paramount+ on 6 November, but its home depends on your country: Channel 4 in the UK, Crave in Canada.

Where you can watch a show now depends less on who made it than on where you happen to be sitting. It Gets Worse is a neat illustration. Leo Reich’s six-part comedy was made by A24 for Channel 4, it has already started in the UK, it reaches Paramount+ in the US on Friday 6 November, and in Canada it lives on a different service altogether. One series, three homes, and two markets still waiting for one. Here is what it is, who is in it, and how to find it.

What it is

Channel 4 commissioned the series in February 2025: six half-hour episodes, created and written by Reich, a comedian, writer and actor, who also stars and serves as an executive producer. The premise is small and specific. Ethan, Abi and Sam, three friends from university, moved to London a year ago and have little to show for it. Then the landlord sells the flat. Evicted and scattered across the city, they have to keep the friendship alive while stuck in unrewarding jobs, dating badly and living in a world that seems to be coming apart. It is a comedy where the rent is as much a plot engine as anyone’s love life, and the city is less a backdrop than an obstacle.

The BFI London Film Festival boiled it down further: friends in their mid-20s meeting real adulthood as eviction looms, in a satire of a generation caught between the housing crisis, dead-end work and messy relationships. The festival screened the first three episodes as a 69-minute block during its 7 to 18 October run, courtesy of Channel 4.

Who is in it

Emily Fairn and Olive Gray share the centre of the series with Reich, alongside Sean Delaney, Dane Williams, India Mullen and John Tothill. The guest list runs long: Andrew Scott, Lena Dunham, Arian Nik, Safia Oakley-Green, Blake Harrison, Nicole Sadie Sawyerr, Phil Zimmerman, Billy Rilot, Kirsty Bloom, Clayton Pettet, Luca Kamleh-Chapman, Vicki Pepperdine, Amelia Dimoldenberg and Emmeline Downie.

Mounia Akl directs, Sam Pinnell produces and Matthew Lewis is director of photography. The commission came from Charlie Perkins, Channel 4’s head of comedy, who said at the time: “We’re thrilled to be the home of Leo’s first show with A24.”

How the episodes are being released

In the UK, It Gets Worse has been on Channel 4 since Thursday 22 October at 10.05pm, on air and on its streaming service. Channel 4’s press pages do not say whether all six episodes went up to stream at once.

The US premiere is fixed for 6 November, but how the episodes roll out is not: Paramount has not said whether all six arrive together or weekly, or which Paramount+ plan carries the series. Some Paramount+ series are tied to a particular plan, as Dexter: Resurrection is, so confirm your tier before 6 November and check the app on the day.

How to watch, market by market

United States: Paramount+, from Friday 6 November.

United Kingdom: Channel 4, on broadcast and streaming, from Thursday 22 October. No Paramount+ required, and UK viewers who missed the 22 October start can look for it on Channel 4’s streaming service.

Canada: Crave, not Paramount+. The series streams exclusively on Crave in Canada as a Crave Original. Bell Media had not published a Crave date on its press site at the time of writing, so watch the Crave app. For which of the Crave plans you need, The Remote‘s guide sorts out the tiers.

Australia: not confirmed. Paramount’s announcement does not list Australia, and no Australian platform had published a primary listing at the time of writing. Check local services.

New Zealand: not confirmed either, for the same reason. Check local services.

The pattern is worth remembering beyond this one show. Three countries, three services, two markets with nothing yet, and with Paramount’s merger with Warner Bros. Discovery reshaping who carries what, the safest habit is to check each app rather than assume one platform has everything.
