Patrick Stewart in Star Trek: Picard
Patrick Stewart returned to Jean-Luc Picard nearly two decades after his last film in the role, and also served as an executive producer. The first season finds a retired Picard tending his family’s vineyard in France until a young woman with a link to his late friend Data pulls him back into space. The third and final season, run by showrunner Terry Matalas, reunites him with the Next Generation crew: Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spiner, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Gates McFadden and Marina Sirtis. The series ran for three seasons from 2020 to 2023 and gave Stewart the chance to play Picard as an old man reckoning with what he left behind, which is the note the character’s story ends on.
