Joanne and Noah got their big romantic ending last fall. Season three of Nobody Wants This is about what comes after: shared closets, an Intro to Judaism class and a fresh crop of complications. All 10 new episodes of the Kristen Bell and Adam Brody comedy are streaming now on Netflix, as of Thursday 22 October.

Where season two left everyone
Netflix’s own season two explainer lays out the finale. Joanne (Bell) did not formally convert and there was no proposal. After her realization, she ran to Noah (Brody), who had already come looking for her; he told her he chose her regardless of her religion, she answered “You’re in luck,” and they kissed. The producers read that as Joanne telling him she is Jewish, though the scene cuts before she says it. In the words Netflix quotes from the creative team, “We wanted to end on romance, not religion.”
Elsewhere, Esther (Jackie Tohn) told Sasha (Timothy Simons) at the engagement party that she wanted to separate so she could work out what she wants; Sasha said he would wait. And Morgan (Justine Lupe) broke off her engagement to Dr. Andy, realizing she barely knew him.

What Netflix has released
Netflix’s first look, published 10 September with on-set photography by Katrina Marchinowski, frames the new run as the “Champagne” season. “This season feels like Champagne,” co-showrunner Jenni Konner told Netflix, explaining that the writers tested each storyline by asking whether it qualified. “We didn’t have to do any more ‘Will they, won’t they?'” she added.
According to Netflix, Joanne and Noah move in together and work through the firsts of building a life. Sasha and Esther both return to dating, with Esther adjusting to the modern Los Angeles scene. Morgan’s career takes off as the podcast succeeds, and she and Sasha begin to feel a pull toward each other, which is complicated by their siblings’ relationship. “It’s very high stakes for Morgan and Sasha,” Konner said. Netflix has also released an official trailer. It has not yet published episode titles for the new season.
Who joins
Netflix has announced nine additions. Three are major recurring roles:
- Sarah Silverman as Rabbi Eden, the warm, quirky teacher of Joanne’s Intro to Judaism class
- Andrew Rannells as Sebastien, Joanne’s rival in that class
- Keyla Monterroso Mejia as Amber, a single classmate who wants a Jewish husband
The guest stars are Avan Jogia as Travis, a laid-back “guys’ guy” who enjoys annoying Joanne; Poorna Jagannathan as Eleanor, Sebastien’s blunt aunt; Sadie Sandler as Denise, a young psychic who reads Morgan; Stephanie Koenig as Poppy, who goes on a date with Sasha; and Steven Weber as Julian, a grounded divorced dad. Creator Erin Foster also makes a cameo as Nicole, whom Netflix describes as Joanne “if everything had gone wrong in her life.”
Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan are the showrunners and executive producers, with Foster as creator and executive producer. 20th Television produces.
