For 35 years the Predator series moved at the pace of one film or so a decade. Then Dan Trachtenberg’s Prey arrived on streaming in 2022, and the pace changed: an animated anthology, Predator: Killer of Killers, followed in 2025, and Predator: Badlands reached theatres on 7 November 2025. In February, Disney called Badlands the highest-grossing film in the franchise, at US$184.5 million worldwide.

The good news for anyone catching up is that 20th Century Studios‘ films now sit almost entirely in one place outside the US. Here is every film in release order, where each one streams by market, and a note on the two Alien vs. Predator crossovers.

The films, in release order

  1. Predator (1987). Directed by John McTiernan. Arnold Schwarzenegger leads a commando team on a mission in a Central American jungle, where they find themselves hunted. Carl Weathers, Bill Duke and Jesse Ventura co-star.
  2. Predator 2 (1990). Directed by Stephen Hopkins. Danny Glover plays a police officer who discovers that an invisible alien hunter is behind a pileup of bodies, and becomes its next target. Gary Busey, Rubén Blades, Maria Conchita Alonso and Bill Paxton co-star.
  3. Predators (2010). Directed by Nimrod Antal. Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Alice Braga, Walton Goggins and Laurence Fishburne play elite fighters who find themselves among a race of extraterrestrial hunters.
  4. The Predator (2018). Directed by Shane Black. A boy, played by Jacob Tremblay, triggers the return of the hunters to Earth. Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Keegan-Michael Key and Olivia Munn co-star.
  5. Prey (2022). Directed by Dan Trachtenberg. Amber Midthunder plays a skilled young warrior who hunts a Predator armed with far more advanced weapons. It skipped cinemas and premiered on streaming, as a Hulu original in the US.
  6. Predator: Killer of Killers (2025). Directed by Trachtenberg, with Josh Wassung as co-director. An animated anthology about three warriors from different eras, a Viking raider, a feudal Japanese ninja and a Second World War pilot, who all become prey. It premiered on 6 June 2025, on Hulu in the US and on Disney+ in the UK and other markets.
  7. Predator: Badlands (2025). Directed by Trachtenberg. Set in the future on a remote planet, it follows Dek (Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi), a young Predator cast out by his clan, who teams up with Thia (Elle Fanning) to hunt an ultimate adversary. It opened in theatres on 7 November 2025 and arrived on Disney+ in the UK on 12 February 2026.

Story order. If you would rather follow the timeline than the release dates, start with Killer of Killers, whose three stories reach back to the Viking age, feudal Japan and the Second World War, and finish with Badlands, which is set in the future.

The crossovers: Alien vs. Predator

Two films put the Predator in the ring with the Xenomorph, and both sit in the same Disney+ collection. Alien vs. Predator (2004), directed by Paul Anderson, sends scientists into a pyramid buried under Antarctic ice; Sanaa Lathan and Lance Henriksen star. Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007) is directed by the Brothers Strause. Both are optional for Predator completists. If they send you down the other branch, our guide to Every Alien Film, in Order covers the Xenomorph’s side of the family.

Where to stream

Canada

Disney+ in Canada carries all seven Predator films plus both Alien vs. Predator films in its Predator collection.

United States

Disney+’s US Predator page lists Prey, Killer of Killers and Badlands, which are Hulu titles that can also be watched inside the Disney+ app. The four earlier films and the two crossovers are not on that page. Hulu’s own franchise guide listed them on Hulu, but it was last revised in May 2024, so their current US streaming home is not confirmed; check Hulu, or rent or buy them from a digital store.

United Kingdom

Disney+ in the UK carries all seven Predator films and both crossovers.

Australia

Disney+ in Australia carries all seven Predator films and both crossovers.

New Zealand

Disney+ in Aotearoa carries all seven Predator films and both crossovers.

Where to start

The Remote‘s pick for a first-timer is to start with the 1987 Predator, jump to Prey, and then watch Badlands: three films that show how differently the same premise can play across nearly four decades. Killer of Killers works as a bridge between the last two. For more franchise marathons, see our guides to every Mission: Impossible film and every Indiana Jones film, and if the original’s jungle siege puts you in a horror mood, our list of Halloween classics by market is still current. Curious why Badlands took three months to reach Disney+? Our explainer on how long films take to reach streaming covers the windows.
