The Cotswolds are open for business again. Rivals, the 1980s drama adapted from Dame Jilly Cooper’s novel, returns on Wednesday 11 November with the second half of its second season, and where you press play depends on where you live. In the US it is a Hulu Original; almost everywhere else, including Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand, it is a Disney+ show.

Disney says the run “will continue with 6×60′ episodes packed full of secrets, betrayals and explosive twists.” Here is how to watch, how the episodes roll out, and how to get caught up before next week.

When Part 2 arrives

Part 2 opens with three episodes at once. Disney’s UK release says the season “returns with a three-episode premiere on Wednesday 11 November on Disney+ in the UK and internationally, and Hulu in the U.S.” Those are episodes 7, 8 and 9 of a 12-episode season.

After the premiere, the US schedule goes weekly. Disney’s “Next on Disney+ and Hulu: November 2026” listing, published 15 October, has a new episode of Rivals on Hulu on Wednesday 18 November and another on Wednesday 25 November. That accounts for five of the six new episodes in November; the season finale falls after the month, and its date is not in that listing.

Disney’s international releases confirm the 11 November premiere and the three-episode start but do not spell out the week-by-week dates outside the US, so check the Disney+ app for each new instalment. None of the releases name a drop time.

Where it streams, by market

Canada. Disney+. Hulu does not operate here, so Rivals sits inside the regular Disney+ app, alongside season 1 and Part 1. If you are weighing whether to keep the subscription through the holidays, The Remote‘s audit of Canadian streaming bills lays out every Disney+ plan and price.

United States. Hulu, as a Hulu Original. Disney’s US page for the series says to “Stream it on Hulu or Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers,” so Disney+ subscribers with the Hulu bundle can watch inside the Disney+ app. Hulu’s November slate also carries new episodes of FX’s The Lowdown, and the Disney+ side of the app has new episodes of VisionQuest on 4 and 11 November.

United Kingdom. Disney+. Rivals is a British production, made by Happy Prince, part of ITV Studios, and the UK press release lists Disney+ as its home there.

Australia and New Zealand. Disney+. Disney’s Australian page says to “Stream it on Disney+ in Australia,” and the international release places the 11 November premiere on Disney+ outside the US.

How to catch up

Season 1 premiered on Disney+ and Hulu on 18 October 2024. Season 2 began on 15 May 2026, with the first six of its 12 episodes released as Part 1.

Outside the US, Disney’s releases say: “All episodes of Season 1 and the first six episodes of Season 2 are available to stream now on Disney+.” That covers everything you need before 11 November.

In the US, Disney’s page says to “Stream all episodes of the first season on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers,” and Part 1 of season 2 is on Hulu as well.

With nine days to go, a viewer starting from scratch has the whole of season 1 plus the six episodes of Part 1 to get through. If you watched season 1 and stopped, Part 1 alone is six episodes, a comfortable weekend.

Where Part 1 left off

Disney describes the mid-season finale only in broad strokes, and so will we. Its June release says that “Following a shocking turn of events in the sixth episode,” the residents of Rutshire are reeling as “the battle between Venturer and Corinium reaches breaking point.” The September release adds that “the residents of Rutshire have been left reeling from tragedy, scandal and betrayal,” and the trailer release calls episode 6 a “heartbreaking mid-series finale.”

As for what comes next, Disney says Lord Tony Baddingham and Declan O’Hara’s “battle for the Cotswolds crown reaches fever pitch,” while Rupert Campbell-Black “is forced to confront his own personal demons.” The episodes promise “Bonfire Night chaos, the Hampshire Hunt Ball and a turbulent Christmas,” and, Disney says, “Caught in the middle of the frenzied franchise war, Taggie O’Hara must find the courage to follow her heart.”

Who is in it

David Tennant (Tony Baddingham), Alex Hassell (Rupert Campbell-Black), Aidan Turner (Declan O’Hara), Nafessa Williams, Bella Maclean, Katherine Parkinson, Danny Dyer, Victoria Smurfit, Claire Rushbrook, Oliver Chris, Lisa McGrillis and Emily Atack are among the returning cast. Rachael Stirling, Rupert Evans and Santiago Cabrera join the series, and Hayley Atwell and Rupert Everett appear as guest stars.

There is more after this. In June, Disney+ said that “Rivals has been greenlit for a third season, with twelve new episodes.” No date has been announced for season 3.
