Richard Griffiths was an English actor who moved between stage, television and film. He played Uncle Monty in Withnail and I, Henry Crabbe in the series Pie in the Sky and Vernon Dursley in the Harry Potter films. He won a Tony Award in 2006 for The History Boys and was made an OBE in 2008.
