American actress (born 1958)
Madeleine Stowe (born 18 August 1958) is an American actress from Los Angeles. After a decade of television guest roles and miniseries, she broke into film with the 1987 comedy-thriller Stakeout, and by the early 1990s was a leading lady in The Last of the Mohicans, Unlawful Entry and Blink. Robert Altman's Short Cuts won her the National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Supporting Actress, and Terry Gilliam's 12 Monkeys added a Saturn nomination. After a break from acting, she returned as the scheming Victoria Grayson on ABC's Revenge (2011 to 2015), a role that earned a Golden Globe nomination.

Career
Stowe started on stage in Beverly Hills and moved into television in 1978 with guest parts on Baretta and Little House on the Prairie, plus the NBC miniseries Beulah Land and The Gangster Chronicles. Stakeout, opposite Richard Dreyfuss and Emilio Estevez, opened at number one in the US, and her Cora Munro in The Last of the Mohicans made her a major star. Short Cuts, Blink and 12 Monkeys followed in quick succession.
She paused her career in 1996, came back with The General’s Daughter and We Were Soldiers, then found a second act on television. Revenge ran four seasons and 89 episodes; later work includes Netflix’s Soundtrack, HBO’s It: Welcome to Derry and Netflix’s 2026 Harlan Coben adaptation I Will Find You.
