Lynn Collins

American actress

Lynn Collins is an American actress from College Station, Texas, trained in the Drama Division of the Juilliard School. She began in classical theatre, playing Ophelia opposite Liev Schreiber in Hamlet and later Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, and played Portia in the 2004 film of The Merchant of Venice. Her screen work since has moved between studio films, including X-Men Origins: Wolverine and John Carter, and television series such as True Blood, Manhunt: Unabomber, Bosch and The Walking Dead.

Lynn Collins appears in 4 films in The Rerun, from 2004 to 2012. Most of that work is in action, sci-fi and comedy.

Known for

  • John Carter (2012). One of the two film roles she is recognized for.
  • X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009). The other film role she is recognized for.
  • The Walking Dead (2021). A television role from 2021 to 2022.
  • 13 Going on 30 (2004). An early film credit from 2004.

Career

Collins arrived on screen in 2004 with three very different films: the comedies 13 Going on 30 and 50 First Dates, and Michael Radford’s The Merchant of Venice. She played the vampire Dawn Green in the first season of HBO’s True Blood (2008), then Kayla Silverfox, Logan’s love interest, in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009).

Her biggest studio lead was Dejah Thoris, the Martian princess, in John Carter (2012). Television has been her steadier home since: Manhunt: Unabomber (2017), Alicia Kent in Bosch (2020) and Leah Shaw in the final season of The Walking Dead (2021 to 2022).

Where to start

  • John Carter (2012): her biggest studio lead, and a sharper heroine than the pulp source might suggest.
  • X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009): Kayla Silverfox gives the film its emotional anchor.
  • 13 Going on 30 (2004): an early supporting turn in a comedy that has aged well.
