Felicity Jones is an English actress, born in Birmingham on 17 October 1983 and raised in Bournville. She began as a child, playing Ethel Hallow in The Worst Witch and Emma Carter on BBC Radio 4's The Archers. Like Crazy won her a Special Jury Prize at Sundance in 2011, and The Theory of Everything brought an Oscar nomination for Best Actress. She played Jyn Erso in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Ruth Bader Ginsburg in On the Basis of Sex, and earned a second Oscar nomination for The Brutalist.

Her Jane Wilde Hawking in The Theory of Everything (2014), opposite Eddie Redmayne’s Stephen Hawking, earned the Best Actress nomination and opened the door to larger studio roles.
In 2016 she led Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, played opposite Tom Hanks in Inferno and appeared in A Monster Calls. She played the young Ruth Bader Ginsburg in On the Basis of Sex (2018). Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist (2024), in which she plays Erzsébet, the Holocaust survivor married to Adrien Brody’s architect, brought a Best Supporting Actress nomination. She followed it with Train Dreams (2025).
