Vanessa Kirby
British actress (born 1987)
Vanessa Kirby is a British actress, born 18 April, who came up through the London stage before Netflix's The Crown made her known worldwide. Her Princess Margaret won her the BAFTA TV Award for Best Supporting Actress and an Emmy nomination. Pieces of a Woman (2020) brought the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at Venice and an Academy Award nomination. She has since moved easily between prestige drama and blockbusters: two Mission: Impossible films, Hobbs & Shaw, Empress Joséphine in Napoleon, and Sue Storm in The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Vanessa Kirby appears in 4 films and 1 TV series in The Rerun, from 2016 to 2025. Most of that work is in drama, history and thriller.

Career
Kirby’s grounding is theatre. After three lead roles at the Octagon Theatre Bolton in 2010, she worked at the National Theatre, the Royal Court and the Young Vic, where she played Masha in Three Sisters and Stella opposite Gillian Anderson in A Streetcar Named Desire. Small screen and film parts followed in Great Expectations, About Time and Everest.
Cast as Princess Margaret in 2015, she gave The Crown‘s first two seasons their restless, glamorous counterweight. Big franchises came next with Mission: Impossible and Hobbs & Shaw, then the raw grief of Pieces of a Woman, which earned her Oscar, BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations. Ridley Scott’s Napoleon paired her with Joaquin Phoenix, and Marvel made her the Invisible Woman in 2025.
