Melissa George is an Australian-American actress, born on 6 August 1976 in Perth. She began as Angel Parrish on the Australian soap Home and Away from 1993 to 1996, then moved to the United States, making her feature debut in Dark City. Career

George won two Logie Awards during her run on Home and Away, then relocated to Hollywood in late 1997. Small parts in Dark City (1998), Steven Soderbergh’s The Limey (1999) and David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive (2001) led to television, including a recurring role on Alias. Her first starring film role was the 2005 remake of The Amityville Horror, and she became a dependable genre lead with 30 Days of Night (2007) and the time-loop thriller Triangle (2009).

Prestige television gave her stronger material: a Golden Globe-nominated turn as a patient in the first season of HBO’s In Treatment (2008), and the Logie-winning role of Rosie in The Slap (2011), which she reprised in the 2015 American version. From 2021 to 2023 she played Margot Fox in The Mosquito Coast.
