Our take
Five inmates in a Paris prison plan an escape, in a story based on a real attempt made in 1947.
Why watch Jacques Becker cast mostly non-actors, including Jean Keraudy, a participant in the real escape attempt, and the film was entered into the 1960 Cannes Film Festival.
